CRC Winter Classic 8K

Gorgeous day for a spectacular race!

This is the 2nd year for this event and it is growing leaps and bounds, both with entrants and activities.  The post run raffle this afternoon was phenomenal.  Congrats to all the winners, lots of great prizes.

As part of the Charlotte Running Club's effort to continually improve this race, the time was changed to 3pm this year - great choice for January outdoor exercise in the Carolinas. The route is now a double loop (no more missed turns) and several new sponsors were added.

The course only has one minor hill, all else is completely flat.  The mud (after yesterday's ice) was very tolerable and the temp at race time was 47°.  Again, just perfect.

Once more to my great delight, I made a new friend this afternoon.  Enjoyed lots of laughs with Miss Benita and our final results were only 2/1000ths of a second apart.

This is a definite repeater for me, looking forward to next year!
